The Mother Hips hail from Northern California. This recording captures The Hips during one of their rare visits East of the Mississippi, in the the city of Chicago. Their lack of touring the mid-west resulted in the band and their music being relatively uknown to many in the area at this time. As a result, and expectedly, there weren't that many people at the show. You can hear evidence of this between tracks. One of the most admirable qualities of The Mother Hips is their unwillingness to give anything less than 110% at any show regardless of how many people show up. This recording demonstrates that quality with flying colors. The band rips through a set of old and new songs from their 12-year catalogue of rock and ballads in front of a fortunate Chicago audience. This recording was multi-tracked and later mastered to CD, and is now offered only here. Enjoy.
